CGI’s can help to show how a modal filter can be a beautiful addition to the local streetscape whilst doing its job of preventing cut through motor traffic and still allowing active travel users to pass through unhindered.
The CGI above shows a large modal filter with planting, wide bidirectional cycle lane and zebra crossing, but the exact same results could be achieved with a much smaller level of build such as the modal filter shown below
This is another view demostrating how a very busy rat run can be filtered to keep heavy car traffic on the main roads whilst creating safe quiet routes for active travel on residential roads.
